If you have the Food & Wine iPad app, the current issue (featuring the F&W Classic in Aspen) is free as of this writing.
Apple recently modified their magazine subscription algorithm, making it easier for publishers to get content into their subscribers’ hands. And I haven’t been paying super-close attention, but IIRC, it seems to me that F&W has been offering up the latest issue for free or at least discounted for a limited time, then at some point reverting to the price for archived issues. When a new issue comes out, you can grab it for free or for $1.99 for a few weeks, before it jumps to $3.99.
And currently the Aspen issue is a free download.
If I don’t get an Ipad sometime this year, I’m going to throw a tantrum.
